Head Guard Fit
Simply put, a protective hat is a "cap to protect the head" that contains a foam material that absorbs shock. It reduces the impact on the head caused by falls, furniture, playground equipment, or friends bumping into each other. The shock absorbing material is "Pitafoam®", which has excellent energy absorption, high vibration damping effect, excellent durability, and excellent safety (RoHS compliant), and is highly regarded as a shock absorbing and vibration damping material for computer cases, etc. Experimental results have shown that hats with Pitafoam® reduce the risk of serious accidents compared to when no hat is worn, proving its shock absorbing effect. We also have products that have obtained the SG certification for shock absorbing hats set by the Product Safety Association, a general incorporated foundation, which is proof of practicality and safety.
When watching your child stand up or toddling around, or when you see them playing enthusiastically with their friends on the swings or horizontal bars in the park, do you ever feel worried and ask, "Are you okay?", "Please don't fall," or "Don't bump into each other." However, no matter how careful moms, dads, and other family members are, falls, falls from swings, horizontal bars, and jungle gyms, and "banging" with friends will happen. If they can get up quickly and play again, there's no problem, but it can lead to injury. A protective helmet may prevent this. Also, there may be children with disabilities who are at high risk of falling. In many cases, daycare centers recommend that such children wear protective helmets.
We have a lineup of protective hats for children in various designs and sizes that can be used both indoors and outdoors. Please feel free to contact us if you have any trouble selecting a product.
0 to 3 years old
In recent years, there have been frequent reports of accidents in which children have been injured by falling from baby carriers. Some cases have even resulted in serious injuries such as skull fractures (see Accident Information Data Bank System). There are many cases of head injuries caused by hitting the head in everyday life, not just falls while walking, but these accidents may be preventable by wearing a protective helmet. Accidents may be preventable by being extremely careful when interacting with children, but since you never know when, where, or what type of accident will occur, please consider wearing a protective helmet just in case.
1 to 2 year olds
It is said that on average, babies start walking at around one year of age. Mom and Dad watch over the baby as they toddle around and hold their hands to help, but before they start walking on their own, it's all too soon. However, the proportions of the body and head are still said to be about four-fifths, and because the head is heavy and prone to losing balance, falls are inevitable. After a fall and injury, you may find yourself thinking, "If only I hadn't taken my eyes off them then..." or "If only I'd held their hand...". A safety helmet may help to alleviate these worries.
Our protective hats are widely recognized in the welfare field as hats that reduce head impacts caused by falls and self-injury by disabled people (children) and falls by elderly people. In recent years, we have received more inquiries from families with children who are suspected of having disabilities, but who are in the so-called gray zone, asking if there are protective hats for children. We have reaffirmed the demand for products for children (1 to 6 years old) and have begun to expand our lineup. As we proceeded with our investigation, we were able to confirm that accidents involving head impacts caused by falls, not only by children in the gray zone, but also by furniture such as chairs and desks indoors, horizontal bars and jungle gyms outdoors, and friends bumping into each other.
In response to these, in January 2021Product Safety AssociationThe SG standard for shock absorbing hats has been established. We developed this product with the hope of reducing the worries of moms and dads, and preventing falls from becoming a trauma for children and causing them to hesitate to do the things they love.
When using protective hats, please always check the size. Even if the hat has shock-absorbing features, it is meaningless if the size is not right and the hat comes off in the event of an accident. Some products have size adjustment features, but some products cannot be adjusted due to the nature of the product. Children grow quickly and in the blink of an eye. Therefore, there is a possibility that the hat may outgrow its size. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please check regularly.
If you wish, you can come to our office (Minato-ku, Tokyo) to try on items before purchasing (reservations required). If you live far away and it is difficult for you to come, please contact us.
The shock absorbing material is placed in a well-ventilated mesh fabric, so it is comfortable to wear in the summer or outdoors and does not get stuffy. It comes in cute pastel colors that are popular with children.
Q: What is a safety helmet?
Answer: A safety helmet is a "hats to protect the head" that has foam material built in to absorb shock. It reduces the impact to the head caused by falls or furniture or playground equipment.
Q: What should I pay attention to when choosing a safety helmet for my child?
A: When using protective hats, be sure to check the size. Even if the hat has shock-absorbing features, it is useless if the size is not right and the hat comes off in the event of an accident. Some products have a size adjustment function, but some products cannot be adjusted due to the nature of the product.
